It is the modified rubber bitumen, solvent based, one component, ready to use, semi-elastic bitumen solution used against water and moisture.
Usage Areas
It is used in water channels and concealed gutters, retaining and curtain walls, foundation basements, gallery and foundation piles, wet voluminous areas such as kitchen, balcony, terrace, bathroom, WC, swimming and decorative pools under the coating.
Advantages of the Product
It is economical and its labor costs are low, it is resistant to aggressive external impacts that can emerge on ground, it is easily applied to surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, sheet, and steel, it shows high adhesion and elasticity, it is easily prepared and applied (by a brush or by spraying), its processing time is long, it repairs cracks, it can be applied safely on horizontal and vertical surfaces, it forms a jointless and continuous insulation layer, it is water and frost resistant after curing.
Surface Preparation
Application ground is purified from loose pieces, oil and other chemicals and defects on the surface are repaired by UKS Repair Mortar. For a fine application, it is recommended to use UKS Bitumen Solution on the application surface as primer. All expansion and movement joints should be mortared by elastomeric joint filler.
Application
UKS Standard Elastic Liquid Membrane is homogenized by a proper mixer. It is applied on the surface, which has been prepared before, by a roll, brush or low-speed sprayer. Although its drying time is short, approximately 2 hours; it should be waited 1 day before the application of each layer in case there is more than one layers. In case it is intended to be resistant to higher pressure, excellent effect can be provided by reinforcing by bearings such as fiberglass, felt, net and separation linen. At least two layers should be applied. If dilution is necessary related to ambient conditions, cellulosic thinner or gas can be used.
Considerations
Although UKS Standard Elastic Liquid Membrane provides high adherence to the surface on which it is applied after solvent within it evaporates, efficient results cannot be obtained in applications on negative areas. Thus it should be applied only to the application surface’s part that contacts with water. Changes such as early or late drying can be observed in different settings and different application thicknesses. Gasmask should be worn indoors and the place should be ventilated during the work.
